Convocation
Two weeks when the whole city has family in town. The gown covers your shoulders throughout, so the dress is judged on the neckline, the hem and the dinner afterwards.
This city runs on the university calendar, and so does its dressing. Convocation, homecoming, winter formals, then a summer of weddings out in the county. Everything ships from our Calgary warehouse — no customs, no duty.
Orders are picked and packed by hand in Calgary, usually the same day they arrive. Each dress travels flat in tissue inside a rigid box, so it arrives ready to wear rather than ready to press. The tracking number reaches you by email the moment the parcel is handed over, and nothing crosses a border on the way.
An order placed on Friday evening leaves on Monday. The same terms apply out to St. Thomas, Strathroy and Woodstock — same timeframe, same free-over-$250 threshold.
Four fixed points, in the order they arrive. Everything else in the London social year hangs off them.
The gown covers the shoulders for the whole ceremony. Choose for the neckline, the hem and the dinner afterwards.
Barns, orchards and lakefront halls an hour out of the city. Outdoors for most of the evening, and cooler than the afternoon suggested.
A week of parties, dinners and reunions where everybody is being photographed. Short is fine; considered is the actual requirement.
Faculty balls and charity galas from January. Floor length genuinely worn, velvet genuinely useful.
Two weeks in June carry more of the year’s dressing than any other fortnight, and the rest of it is split between the county in summer and a formal season that starts in January.

Barns, orchards, lakefront halls an hour out. Long outdoor evenings that cool off fast once the sun drops behind the fields.
Faculty balls, charity galas, the winter run of black tie. Floor length is genuinely worn here, and velvet is the safe answer to a February parking lot.
Everything below is in the Calgary warehouse today and leaves on the next working day. Sizes shown on each card are the ones actually left.

There is no fitting room here, so measurements do the work. It takes ten minutes and saves a return.
For corset and bustier styles the deciding measurement is underbust, not bust — a boned bodice has almost no give and has to sit correctly vertically as well.
Still unsure? Send your measurements and the dress you are considering to info@the-clipse.com — we answer with an honest recommendation, including when the answer is that neither size will work.
