CLIPSE is a Canadian womenswear label, and Toronto is where most of our orders go. Evening, cocktail and corset dresses, cut for real evenings rather than a lookbook, delivered to your door across the city and the GTA.

Everything ships from our own warehouse in Calgary. Your parcel stays inside Canada from the moment it leaves us, which means no customs hold, no brokerage fee and no unexpected charge on the doorstep — unlike the British and Australian labels most Toronto shoppers end up comparing us with.

Delivery to Toronto and the GTA

• 2–4 business days by tracked courier once your order is dispatched.
• Free on orders over $250. Below that, a flat $21.
• Signature on delivery, with the tracking number emailed the moment the parcel leaves the warehouse.
• Same terms across the GTA: Mississauga, Brampton, Etobicoke, Scarborough, North York, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Oakville and Pickering.
• Orders are processed Monday to Friday; an order placed on Friday evening leaves on Monday.

Wedding season, May to October

Autumn galas and the festival circuit

September through November brings the events where people actually dress: openings, benefits, industry evenings. This is the season for a floor-length or a strong column silhouette — evening dresses. December parties

Dressing for a Toronto winter

Between November and March the walk from car to door is short but cold. Fleece-lined opaque tights are invisible under a dress and change the arithmetic entirely; a long coat over a short dress looks intentional, a short coat over a long one rarely does; and carrying heels while wearing boots is standard practice here, not a compromise.

Getting the size right the first time

There is no fitting room here, so measurements do the work. It takes ten minutes and saves a return.

1. Measure over bare skin or thin underwear, wearing the bra you plan to wear with the dress — a padded bra moves the bust measurement by several centimetres.
2. Take four numbers: bust, underbust, waist and hips. Keep the tape level all the way round; the most common mistake is letting it ride up at the back.
3. Match them to the size chart, which maps our sizes to US, UK and EU equivalents.
4. Between two sizes, size up on anything structured. A seam can be taken in; fabric cannot be added.

For corset and bustier styles the deciding measurement is underbust, not bust — a boned bodice has almost no give and has to sit correctly vertically as well. Our corset sizing guide covers it, and the measuring guide walks through each number.

Fabric, and how it behaves

Satin catches light and photographs beautifully after dark, but shows every crease — steam it, never iron. Velvet is warm, forgiving and firmly autumn-winter. Matte crepe reads expensive in any light and is the one to choose if the dress has to work at both an afternoon ceremony and an evening reception. The fabric guide goes into detail on each.

Returns, and what happens if it doesn’t fit

Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery. Items must be unworn, with tags attached and in original packaging. Email us with your order number and we reply with instructions — please don’t send anything back before that, as unannounced returns can go astray.

Refunds go to the original payment method within 5–10 business days of the parcel reaching us. Return shipping is the customer’s responsibility unless the item arrived faulty or incorrect, in which case we cover it.
