Orders are picked and packed by hand in Calgary, usually the same day they arrive. Each dress travels flat in tissue inside a rigid box, so a velvet pile or a pressed pleat reaches the region the way it left the warehouse. Nothing crosses a border on the way, which is why the timeframe holds through February as well as July.
An order placed on Friday evening leaves on Monday. The same terms apply across the region and over the bridge to Lévis — same timeframe, same free-over-$250 threshold.
Not the invitation, not the venue. Three consequences, in the order they actually happen.
Four hundred years of stone, laid uneven and polished slick by rain. A stiletto is not a brave choice here, it is a short one — a block heel or a low sculpted heel is what people actually arrive in, and change out of only if the floor inside is worth it.
Drop two inches of heel and a floor-length dress becomes a floor-sweeping one. The hem has to be cut for the shoe you will genuinely wear on the walk, not the one you would wear if the venue had a driveway.
Which is how almost everyone here ends up at a midi. It clears the stone, it reads formal in a room built of the same stone, and it survives the walk back at one in the morning.
Formality runs higher than the wording of the invitation suggests. Stone rooms, high ceilings, and a guest list that has dressed for them before.
